5 Things to Keep in Mind on Opening Day

As we kick off the 2016 Des Moines Home + Garden Show, here are five reminders and features to keep in mind!

1. Check out our celebrity presenters! Celebrity guests include Kevin O’Connor, host of PBS’ This Old House, and HGTV’s Two Chicks and a Hammer. There will also be several other local experts presenting on trends for the upcoming year and tips for refreshing your space.

2. Come ready to talk with experts. Whether you are just thinking about a home or garden project, or you are ready to get started, come ready to chat with the hundreds of experts that will be available. Bring pictures, plans and questions!

3. Visit us Sunday for a great deal on plants. The Annual Plant Sale will take place on Sunday, February 14. The featured landscapers will be offering great bargains to help you add color to your yard!

4. Heroes receive free admission on Friday! All current and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters and military personnel will be honored with free admission to the show.

5. Better Gnomes & Gardens Contest. A dozen local celebrities and organizations are going gnome-to-gnome and decorating a gnome that will be on display at the show! All attendees can vote on their favorite gnome and the winner will get money to donate to the charity of their choice.
